Conference Message.

We are living in a day when God is calling women to rise up and become what He has called them to be in God. Down through the ages, as God revealed more and more of Himself, He also moved on behalf of the women to redeem them from the curse.

Just as we honor Sister Anne tonight, God is honoring women in this hour. It is their hour to arise and take their place in the army of God. Just a brief story to set the context.

A number of years ago, I was visiting in Honduras to encourage the missionaries and teach in their Bible School. I came in a day early and so they gave me a number of video’s to watch. All but one of them was in Spanish, which I do not speak. The one English one was of Dr David Youngi Cho, from the 700,000 member church in Korea.

He spoke of God’s dealing with him concerning leadership. At the time of the dealing his church was only 100,000. God spoke to him that He wanted to grow the church but Dr. Cho was only using half of his leadership potential. When he asked God what he meant, the Lord told him that he was not using the women. Dr Cho told God that it was not acceptable to use women in his culture. It would cause them to be persecuted and treated terribly, but God did not relent in His insistence that he promote women to leadership in cell groups and other area’s of church life. Finally Dr. Cho relented and began to promote women to positions of leadership. The church grew and peaked at 800,000. God blessed abundantly and multiple millions have been affected and saved because of that act of obedience.

Two years ago at conference we share the components of the curse. As we shared that and the power of the cross in breaking it, and redeeming women from it, there came a freedom in the gathering. Review with me.

Gen 3:14-16 KJV  And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:  (15)  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.  (16)  Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

The components of the curse:

1.    Enmity between the seed of the women and the serpent’s seed. (Reference the Wheat and the Tares)
    a.    The Good Seed = The Children of the Kingdom
    b.    The Tares       = The Children of the Wicked One.
2.    Sorrow in conception
3.    Sorrow in delivery of the children.
4.    Her desire will be toward her husband. (Initially it was toward the Lord)
5.    The husband shall rule over her. (Have power over, dominion,)

In the instructions of Paul to the husbands in Ephesians 5 there are a number of things that have been under emphasized by the church. Because we have some husbands here, I want to sum up those instructions that apply to them helping to bring the women into their place or in allowing the women to take their place.

Eph 5:21-33 KJV  Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.  (22)  Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.  (23)  For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.  (24)  Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.  (25)  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;  (26)  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,  (27)  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.  (28)  So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.  (29)  For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:  (30)  For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.  (31)  For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.  (32)  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.  (33)  Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

The first instruction is the one missed by most ministries but sets the context for the rest of the chapter. Always remember, Jesus is the supreme example for all truth and purity.

1.    Submitting yourselves one to another, in the fear of God.
    a.    Rom 12:10 KJV  Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
2.    Wives submit yourselves to your own husbands as unto the Lord.
3.    Husbands, are heads of the house/wives. The proviso, as Christ is Head of the Church.
    a.    The key here is “in the same way that Christ is head of the Church. The question is, How is Christ the Head of the Church? How does He relate to His church?
4.    Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the Church. How did He love the church? There is a clear sense in which He preferred her above Himself. He is not going to take His place as King of Kings and Lord of Lords until she is ready.
5.    Husbands love your wives as your own body. No husband purposefully abuses his own body.
6.    We are members one of another.
7.    Now I speak concerning Christ and His Church. The parallel should always look as how Jesus has treated us. He has never forced us, nor badgered us, by innuendo, criticism, sarcasm, or any type of coercion.
8.    This is a great mystery.
9.    1Pe 3:7 KJV  Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; (not behind one another)that your prayers be not hindered.

Back in Moses day God began to redeem the women. When it says that there was a mixed multitude that came out of Egypt, we find that numerous Egyptians joined themselves to Israel and followed the instructions of Moses to the Israelites in order to be saved with Israel. That is the only explanation for the mixed multitude.

Exo 12:38 KJV  And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.

Go with me to Numbers 27:1-7 where we find God making special provision for the family’s inheritance where there were no sons born. Remember

1Co 10:11  Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Num 27:1-7 KJV  Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.  (2)  And they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,  (3)  Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the LORD in the company of Korah; but died in his own sin, and had no sons.  (4)  Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.  (5)  And Moses brought their cause before the LORD.  (6)  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,  (7)  The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.

This brings women into the passages on inheritance, relating it to our passage from 1st Peter. This takes it far enough that the man would take the name of the woman’s father or at least the last name of the children raised up would have the mother’s last name, not the father’s!!!

In following the cry of these women through Jewish history we see others whose cry was “I want to belong”. It is not seen by open statements so much as by actions.

Jos 2:5-14 KJV  And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.  (6)  But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.  (7)  And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.  (8)  And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;  (9)  And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.  (10)  For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.  (11)  And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.  (12)  Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token:  (13)  And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.  (14)  And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.

Here Rahab recites a brief history, which proves that all of Canaan has been following the journey of the children of Israel through the wilderness. They knew of the miracles and the great things that God had done for his people. This one who was under the sentence of death by God’s general instruction to Israel in how to deal with the inhabitants of the land, found a way to express her desire to belong to God’s people and actually came into the line of Christ as a result of her covering for the spies.
She was willing to pay a high price to belong to the right group of people and find her place in the line of Christ.
We find in the Book of Ruth, a complete story of one who was not of the ‘right’ group, or denomination” and worshiping the ‘wrong’ god, whose desire to belong brought her also into the line of Christ.

Rth 1:4 KJV  And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years.  5  And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.  (6)  Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread.  (7)  Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah.  (8)  And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother's house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me.
Rth 1:15-18 KJV  And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.  (16)  And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:  (17)  Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.  (18)  When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.

This is one of the most famous passages in scripture when one is preaching on commitment. Yet, it is the cry of one wanting something that could not be hers by birth.

Notice that although Naomi was bitter by her own admission, Ruth saw something that cause her to desire to belong to her mother-in-law’s nation above her own family, friends and homeland. This desire brought her not only into Israel and God’s protection but also put her in a place to be brought into the line of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In our last conference we covered thoroughly the position God gave to Deborah and how she was promoted by God to rule the whole nation of Israel. She becomes the role model for women in ministry. It is clear in her Song of The Lord that all the governors came and submitted to her.

One more reference in which it is clear that women were a part of God’s plan.

Neh 3:12 KJV  And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.

Ezra and Nehemiah are books in which the restoration of the church is typified prophetically. God in directing this historic event allowed women to work alongside men in this prophetic restoration illustration of what would happen in His church in the end time. The walls of Jerusalem were being rebuilt signifying the walls of salvation that protect God’s heritage. Women were significant in this prophetic act. It will also be so in the last days.

When bringing the principle into the New Covenant the Apostle Paul makes some clear statements concerning the place of women and it is not the ones that most preachers use.

Gal 3:28 KJV  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

  1.     (Weymouth NT)  In Him the distinctions between Jew and Gentile, slave and free man, male and female, disappear; you are all one in Christ Jesus.
  2.     (LITERAL V)  There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there is no slave nor freeman, there is no male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
  3.     (Modern KJV)  There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is no male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
  4.     (THE MESSAGE) Gal 3:28-29   In Christ's family there can be no division into Jew and non-Jew, slave and free, male and female. Among us you are all equal. That is, we are all in a common relationship with Jesus Christ. 29 Also, since you are Christ's family, then you are Abraham's famous "descendant," heirs according to the covenant promises.
Throughout time since the church fell into the dark ages, women have been oppressed and by force in word and deed, repressed, unable to come into the fulness God had for them. Jesus came to set the captive free.
Women have been captive to the traditions of men and doctrines of devils. The cursed position of women has been preached, celebrated and legislated in both the church and the world. God is declaring true freedom to the women of God.

Jesus on the cross redeemed women from the curse, just as He did man. For men freedom has been trumpeted throughout the Christian world but for the women, the cursed position has been taught. Today the freedom in Christ is being proclaimed.

Women have felt they do not belong. A dear spiritual daughter of mine, who has gone on to her reward after 21 years in India and raising up five churches, traveling Canada as an evangelist, teaching in Bible Schools in North and Central America as well as returning to India the land of her first love, made a statement. “For a woman to be accepted at the equal level to a man, she must do twice as much, twice as well, fortunately, that is not difficult”

The role model that women have had to model after has been men. Although they are called into every position in the Body of Christ that men are, they do not function like men. There is much we could teach about the difference in function and expression from the scriptures, but that is for another time. Sufficient to say that they can function as Apostle, Prophets, Teachers, Evangelists and Pastors.

Reminding you that Rachel, Moses’ wife and her sisters were shepherdesses as well as the Shulimite in Song of Songs. A shepherd is equated to a pastor in the scriptures.

Today a cry is rising from the heart of women who have been called of God and not allowed by their teaching or tradition to minister; I WANT TO BELONG. They are not desiring to be above men or to exercise dominion over, but to come alongside. They are crying out for grace to become all that God has called them to be.

All that is obtainable by grace is for women as well as men.

  1. The Word is ministered by grace Acts 20:32
  2. Paul said his apostleship was by grace. Romans 1:5
  3. He said the gifts were by grace. Romans 12:6
  4. Paul was a wise masterbuilder/apostle by the grace of God. 1 Cor. 3:10
  • 1Co_15:10  But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
  1. 2Co_4:15  For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
  2. 2Co_9:8  And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
  3. Gal_1:15  But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
  4. Eph_3:7  Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
  5. Eph_3:8  Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
  6. Eph_4:7  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
  7. Col_3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
  8. Col_4:6  Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
  9. 2Ti_1:9  Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
  10. 1Pe_3:7  Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
    1. It is important to realize the significance of this passage. The meaning of the word honor here is a key to proper attitudes in marriage and God answering the husbands prayers.
      1. G5092  τιμή  timē  tee-may'  From G5099; a value, that is, money paid, or (concretely and collectively) valuables; by analogy esteem (especially of the highest degree), or the dignity itself: - honour, precious, price, some.
      2. This therefore requires the husband to place upon the wife a value of the highest degree and to prefer her above himself. Coupling this with our Eph. 5 passage a fresh understanding of how we are required to treat her comes into view. SELAH!
  11. 1Pe_4:10  As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.   11   If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen
    1. Properly translated the word “man” is not in the original. It would read “If any hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God”  11   If any  speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any  minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth....
Zec_4:7  Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

Lord come in your mercy and impart GRACE to these women to break both external and internal limits put on them by men, traditions of men, systems, denominations, and themselves. Release them into the fulness of Grace for their lives and may they receive vision for these last days that will carry them into the expression of the Kingdom of God that they are called to. Restore, Release, Recover, and Resurrection into their lives in the Name of the Uncreated One, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who reigns forever and ever and is getting ready to set His Kingdom in order in us, in His Church and in the world. Lord Jesus bring them into the place there heart is longing for, that place that you have made for them as joint-heirs with and in Christ. Abolish the middle wall of partition that men have put up and cause the women to live in the place you redeemed for them, when you destroyed the curse and brought us into the “neither realm”. Raise up women as apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, pastors and elders. Raise up the rest of Your leadership I pray in that name above every other name the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
