Are You Thinking Yet?

February 22, 2012
Recently I posted a quote from a British Member of Parliament One of the reasons it was so powerful is it came from a politician rather than a Christian minister.

Inherent in each one of us God has placed a number of things that speak to a common origin and a thoughtful Creator. Man, to his own peril, ignores those indicators. In this article I want to further address what it means to be SERVANTS OF THE SPIRIT.

From the age of 5-11 I was brought up in a church marching toward legalism. Today it is Pentecostal in doctrine and legalistic in nature. My heart aches for them. What happened to bring them to that state. How did a group who had the Spirit of God moving in them powerfully, especially the church I was brought to, become a legalistic expression? How did they begin in the Spirit and are now trying to finish a spiritual race in the flesh.

Although I could write much about that style of journey using many of the historic moves as illustrations, let me just speak of my own experience.

When I came to my grandfather's from a Catholic foster home, God was moving powerfully by His Spirit in the Pentecostal church grandfather went to. I saw and experienced many of the manifestations most associate with the Toronto blessing. God was moving sovereignly without man's interference for a number of months. The power of God was so strong that often there was only worship and the grace of God would save sinners, fill people with the Holy Spirit, heal bodies and cause people to have powerful meetings with God that affected them for the rest of their lives. I was one of those. I became so addicted to the presence of God, that when He began to move on, endeavoring to draw a people deeper into Him, my heart responded and I have been pressing deeper ever since. That was almost 60 years ago.

Yet, man started to try to keep things at the level they were, he did not understand that when it seemed like the Spirit lifted, it was actually the wooing of the Chief Shepherd to invite and try to bring His beloved into a deeper relationship with Him. They chose to try to make it look like God was still moving, the power of God was still present and moved from the realm of the Spirit into the realm of the soul.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing     even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the                 thoughts and intents of the heart.

Note that the difference between soul and spirit is discerned. Another way of looking at that is that 'the soul' can mimic the spirit's actions so that only discernment can tell the difference. Understanding this can explain much of the fascination with manifestations today. Yet, manifestations can be a distraction to what God is saying and doing. Remember that external manifestations do not necessarily indicate that a work is being done in the inner man. God may be dealing with a man or women when the power of God is on them so strong they manifest some type of outward action, but only the will of the person can choose to let the work be done in them.

When we stop allowing the work to be done in us, we start down the road to becoming prisoners of the thought pattern, the manifestation, or the organization as that quote speaks.

In order to remain SERVANTS OF THE SPIRIT it is essential to let the Spirit of God continue to work in our lives and change our character and nature to that of the Risen Lord. Only the fruit of the Spirit and the nature of Jesus worked in us can keep us SERVANTS OF THE SPIRIT. Remaining teachable and pliable in the dealings of God and workings of the Spirit in the internal world can cause us to grow into mature men and women of the Spirit.

God is challenging a people today to remain pliable, flexible and open to God applying the Word of God to their lives. There are times it will seem to be outside of every box they know, but, The principles of the application will always be found in the Life of Jesus, Who became the Word made flesh. That means His life shown light on the application of the principles of God, even when the prisoners of the church of that day, criticized His application of the Word to life and practice.

There will always be misunderstandings by the prisoners of the organization and the SERVANTS OF THE SPIRIT!!!

Israel

June 22, 2010
I do not often comment on the national or international scene when writing these blogs. There is so much that the Body of Christ has yet to come into, that needs to be shared. Although I do believe that the land of Palestine was given them by God and belongs to the 12 tribes of Israel, I also know that tough times are ahead for her, if I am believing Biblical prophecy.

The ambassador from Israel to the UN, put it very succinctly in the following antidote:

This was something forwarded to me by ...

Until I Deborah Arose

We are living in the days when God is restoring to the church all things that were lost as she went into the dark ages. One of those things was the treatment and position of women in the Body of Christ. There is an observation to be made when looking at revival and church history.

When God is truly moving, women are released into a greater ability to express the nature of the Father through the adorning of the meek and quiet spirit. There is only one who is called and held up before us as me...

This view of Earth comes from NASA's Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer aboard the Terra satellite.

Yikes! Just how big was the magnitude 8.8 earthquake in Chile? One scientist says the shaking may have affected the entire planet by shifting Earth on its axis. This possibly may hav...

Ezekiel 37

The other day there came into my hand a quote from Israel's prime minister, "Netanyahu said, "Armed with the Jewish spirit, the justice of man, and the vision of the prophets, we sprouted new branches and grew deep roots. Dry bones became covered with flesh, a spirit filled them, and they lived and stood on their own feet."

Although this may not be the complete fulfillment for Israel, I believe it is the beginning of the fulfillment that will take time to see it fully accomplished. It can be e...

Children of the Kingdom

February 7, 2010

Recently I was asked to do a Sermonar on the End Time. I was given 3 services to do an overview. As many of you know, that requires Divine inspiration to take the highlights of the time period covered by the "End Times" and be enbled to share enough that those attending receive hope and at least a taste of the glories that have yet to be revealed to and through God's church in the upcoming days.

In contemplating all of this, I was led to the parable of the Wheat and the Tares. Because this is...

ISRAEL'S DISPROPORTIONATE RESPONSE

Article is copied but comments my own.

Many countries and world leaders have accused Israel of responding disproportionately to aggression from Hizballah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.

However, it is time that the world press and media speak of another disproportionate response from Israel.

The terrible disastrous earthquake in Haiti has generated responses from many nations. The US has sent supplies and personnel, Britain sent 64 f...

Futher Ponderings

January 28, 2010
It is the glory of the Lord to conceal a thing, but the honour of kings to search out a matter. Prov. 25:2

In this passage there is hidden a secret to coming into authority in God. In Revelation 4:10 it speaks of a people whose testimony is, "and has made us unto our God, kings and priests, and we shall reign on the earth."

My pondering in this scripture has been, is this part of the qualifying to be a king; searching out the hidden things of God. In the process of searching out the matter...

Ponderings from Wisdom

December 24, 2009
For numerous years I have been pondering in the book of Proverbs. Questions have arise and here are some of them now yet fully answered.

  1. There were numerous things that Solomon did not know, though he was the wisest man outside Jesus Christ. Is it possible that some of those things will be revealed as science probes the depth of nature.
  2. Will God then reveal to His men and women, the spiritual parallels that take us deeper into Him and how they show His handiwork
  3. Does the Locust have something to...
